Arlington, VA— Virginia-based advanced technology and creative design company, U.Group, took home top honors at 2019 MarCom Awards for its work with the National Law Enforcement Museum and NASA’s Earth Science Applied Sciences Program. The company was named a Platinum Winner in the Integrated Marketing category for its strategic prowess and creative execution of the museum’s widely shared Crimes UnCased campaign and earned a Gold for delivering NASA a powerful and interactive digital hub for its Space for U.S. initiative.

Crimes UnCased campaign for National Law Enforcement Museum

The platinum award-winning Crimes UnCased campaign consisted of devising an integrated ad campaign, creating an immersive museum experience, and forging local partnerships to reach new audiences and redefine the museum as a cultural hub in the District.

“We’re proud that we not only helped draw attention and increase ticket sales to National Law Enforcement Museum, but through creative partnerships and enhanced engagement tactics we’ve influenced the museum’s on-premise experience and visitor engagement model,” said Vice President, Experience, Megan Peterman.

U.Group’s unique meld of creativity, strategy, and technology also changed the way their client, NASA, engages with its audiences.

“To help the customer increase civic engagement with their earth science projects, we created an interactive storytelling platform that shined a spotlight on how NASA Earth observations impact people’s everyday lives,” said Chief Creative Officer, Chris Lester. “By focusing on stories, we helped NASA bring their data to life in a relatable way—and raised the bar for what government websites should be in the process,” he added.

Considered one of the largest and most prestigious creative competitions in the world, the MarCom Awards recognize excellence in the marketing and communications sectors. In 2019, the company also received Honorable Mention in the Informational Video category for its work with the Environmental Working Group on the #BeautyMadeBetter campaign.
